Fezzan Explorer, Libya, November 2010

A return to some favorite places and some new ones this time - Tassili Meridet was stunning with a great sunset over the tissili, we did not manage to get to some rock art sites near there but there's always the next time .... As always we found many artifacts, old and new ( well 'ish) and Tarik our guide was a real asset. The rock art in the Acacus continues to provoke as many questions as it answers, but it does show the speed of desertification and climate change in the Sahara. For our next Libya expedition in 2012 we plan to cross the Hamada al-Hamra and head deeper into the Murzek Sand Sea, join us...........
