The Sahara.... it covers more than 9 million square kilometres, stretching from the Atlantic to the Red Sea and is the world's largest desert. A blend of sand, rock, gravel and mountains, it is not devoid of life - animals, birds and plants exploit specialised niches and nomadism is the way that humans now live in the desert. Fossils, stone tools and rock art however show that the desert was not always dry but has constantly been changing. Like the sands, the security situation shifts back and forth as global politics clash with local problems. As such we have taken the decision not to commit to a location for our 2014 desert trip. We invite you to register your interest in joining us and will contact you mid year to discuss a final location. From 2006 onwards we have led expeditions to Libya, Algeria, Mauritania or Western Sahara every year and have been into some of the desert's remotest areas - our track records speaks for its self.
Add Egypt to the list of countries and you really have the best parts of the Sahara covered - we will be in one of these countries in 2023. We recognise that nothing is certain and situations change, so we will not ask for any money until we have a firm location and itinerary confirmed and in the event of us having to cancel the trip for whatever reason then we'll refund 100% of all the money paid.
These Sahara expeditions are the hardest expedition's we offer. You will be pitting yourself and your vehicle against one of the globes toughest environments. Distances are long, days are hot and the going will be slow, but rewards are high. This really will be an unforgettable trip, the sights and scenes will linger and replay in your head for many years, you will have achieved what many can only dream of - you will have driven to the heart of the Sahara.
